Baccarat for Beginners

Learning to play Baccarat can be a difficult thing to do. Both physical and online baccarat are complex games, and it’s important that you learn each rule, paying close attention to the details. While Baccarat isn’t a complicated game, it does have quite a few rules, and it’s essential that they all be followed.

Baccarat is a group game, and each player is concerned only with the outcome of one hand only. The object of Baccarat is to get your hand as close to 9 as possible, and was made famous in James Bond movies.

While baccarat is traditionally thought of as a high-rollers only game, in reality it can be played by anyone. Have a seat at the baccarat table, and enquire about the minimum bets. Online baccarat is played with the same rules, but can be played from the comfort of your own home.

Place your bet on one of the options in front of you. They will be labeled Player, Banker, or Tie. After the cards are dealt, you will have two cards in your hand. The score of each hand is tallied, and the player closest to the number 9 wins the bet. If the total of the hand is more than 9, then last number is the score. So if your hand is a 6 and a 7, which totals thirteen, your score is 3.

A third card may be dealth based upon the value of the two existing cards in your hand. If the dealer is closest to 9, everyone who bet on his hand will win – similarly, the winners can bet on the player or that both hands will tie.
